Welcome to Cloquet Ski Club!
This is a Nordic combined club, based in Cloquet MN, and designed to get kids interested in ski jumping and cross country skiing. Our goal is to introduce skiers to these winter sports, get them comfortable and proficient and eventually competing at a local, regional and national level. The Club is run by a dedicated group of volunteers, who put a lot of time and effort into making sure everyone is welcome and safe. Click photo for LARGER image!

Annual Central Division Tournament Held January 20     RESULTS
Our club's biggest event of the year was held on the evening of Friday, January 20. We have a lot of juniors in our own club, and had a large field of jumpers from other clubs, too. Our Friday event was followed by Coleraine's 100th Anniversary Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, featuring a "target" jumping event on their big 70 meter hill on Saturday evening, followed by the club's 100th anniversary party.  Complete results via link above.

Facilities
The Joe Nowak Ski Area features 5, 10, 20 and 40 meters jumps, the Mike Marciniak cross country trails feature a 2.5k lit trail and a 5k loop. The new Alpine hill is adjacent to the jumping area. We have use of the Spafford Chalet, where we offer concessions and snacks. All facilities are located within the Pine Valley Recreation Area.

Membership
Ski club membership is open to kids 3-18 years old. Members must join the Cloquet Ski Club and the USSA Ski association. This years fee will be $100.00 per child.

Equipment
Helmets are a requirement for all skiers. The club does provide equipment for skiers, as available. However, you may need to purchase some of your own in the event we do not have what you need. Check with club members for leads on equipment.

Practice Schedule
Regular practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, during the winter months. The hill is often open on Saturdays, but that's dependent on weather, and on travel by coaches and athletes to out-of-town tournaments. Please check ahead.

History
The Cloquet Ski Club was founded in 1962 by Joe Nowak, who coached jumping, cross country, and alpine. In 1964 Mike Marciniak joined as head of the cross country program. In 1965 John Luomala took over the alpine, and Bubby Johnson also came on board. All of the founding members are still involved in the club and provide help that can only come from seasoned veterans.
