Minocqua Winter Sports Park -   5M, 17M, 35M

      2006 Tournament - February 26

Welcome to Minocqua Winter Park ... our annual Central Division Ski Tournament will be held February 26. We invite you to spend the afternoon with us, watching junior ski jumpers fly for distance!

We have three jumps: 5 meter, 17 meter and 35 meter. You can click here for a picture of both of the larger jumps. Please come back and visit our website again!

Minocqua athlete Jerry Jonas finished atop the Central Division season standings in class J1 (ages 16 & 17) for the entire 2004 season. The picture at left shows Jerry sailing past the judges' stand at the National Championships in Steamboat Springs (March 2004). Click image to enlarge view.

Jerry's brother Jason Jonas, represented the the Central Division at the Junior Olympics in Anchorage, Alaska in March 2004. Jason is a Nordic Combined athlete, meaning he participates in both jumping and cross country. He also finished eighth in the 2004 divisional class J2 standings (skiers age 14 & 15).

The Jonas brothers are outstanding competitors, and like many of our Central Division skiers from smaller clubs, often have to train away from home to get rides on larger jumps. Their dedication and motivation deserves recognition.

If you have any questions about Minocqua's jumping program, call Jeff Jonas at 715.564.2555. You can also e-mail Jeff at jjonas@centurytel.net.

We're located at the Minocqua Winter Park, which is also a great XC area, and you can click this link for directions and current conditions. Winter Park has a modern chalet, lighted trails for night skiing, and a PSIA certified instruction program. We hope you'll visit our facilities!
