We are here for some training before we start again with competitions this weekend. The first part of the this period hasn't gone exactly how we wanted it to go but I feel good about this second part. We have 7 more competitions and this training break was just what we needed. While we were here, we went over to Kulm and watched the Ski-Flying competition last Sunday. It was pretty inspiring and cool to see in person. We were able to stand right on the stairs on the landing hill and got an incredible view.

Thanks for all your support, USA Nordic Combined

The first period of World Cup B is over and we are excited about how the athletes performed. Bill Demong was on the podium 4 out of 5 comps, took 2 victories and his lowest finish was sixth. Eric Camerota had an awesome period as well. He won his first World Cup B victory and was no worse than 12th in the other 4. Brett Camerota made a giant step, scoring points in every competition with 13th being his best. Alex Glueck also made improvements and was in the points in both competitions in Steamboat but couldn't manage to score any in LP though. Jed Hinkley, while struggling a bit on the hill is close to being up there when he finds his jumping form. He is consistently one of the fastest skiers in every race.

Now we take a small break from competition but not training over Christmas. Bill and Eric will be joining Todd and Johnny on World Cup A for the 2nd period. They leave for Oberhof, Germany on December 27th. The remaining four guys will train in Park City and begin the second period of World Cup B on the Olympic hill in Pragelato, Italy, January 7-8th.

Thank you for all your support and we will just keep on keeping on!!

As you reported, Eric won yesterday!! We had a great day. Two on the podium and all 5 guys in the points! It was a goofy on the jump hill with the air. While it wasn't blowing very hard it was changing just enough that some people got nice headwind and some got tailwind and some had calm conditions.

David Zauner of Austria tied the hill record of 127m. He is jumping very well at the moment. We are looking forward to heading to Lake Placid today and having 3 more competitions there. The forecast looks good for making snow and hopefully they will get off without a hitch.

The competitions in Steamboat were awesome and it is always nice to have comps at home.

On to LP!

Great day here in Steamboat!!

Bill, Eric, Brett, and Alex all scored points today. Bill was second in a sprint for the victory. Eric skied from 35th to 10th. If he had two jumps like his second one he would have been fighting with Bill for the victory. Brett also skied from 31st to 13th and had a solid jumping comp for himself. Alex skied from 36th to 22nd. Jed had a tough jumping comp but almost skied into the points finishing 32nd. We have a sprint tomorrow then 3 more in Lake Placid next week. Stay tuned.
